Tarheel Sports Car Club, or THSCC, is known as a premier amateur motorsports organization, hosting and organizing Autocross racing events since 1964 and recently adding Rallycross® racing events. On April 14th, we had the honor of sponsoring Landon Tallent and Sam Williams, both driving BMW 335s, at the 2019 North Carolina Autocross event held at the Cary Towne Center. That’s just one of many events we hope to be apart of in the years to come!
Autocross Racing in Raleigh
If you’ve been wanting to get into racing, but aren’t sure where to start, check out autocross! Autocross is one of the safest events for beginners, and requires little to no extra equipment. Unlike wheel-to-wheel racing that can be prohibitive to new racers, autocross is a race against the clock to maneuver a course and get the best time.
With the exception of trucks, minivans, and SUVs, all types of cars as long as they pass inspection (meaning good tires, brakes, and suspension). THSCC hosts autocross events across North Carolina and offers novice programs that make it easy for beginners to get involved.
RallyCross® Racing in North Carolina
RallyCross® is similar to autocross, only instead of being held on a paved course, it’s held on an unpaved track, like a field or gravel lot. Like autocross, it’s a beat-the-clock event, and nearly any car can enter (though some events do require Street Tires). THSCC hosts RallyCross events all year long with a variety of courses available.
